The nightlight has a standard incandescent lamp that is reasonable, but not too bright. Because it is not running at full intensity it should last a long time (also produces less heat). Other things I like are; if the utility power goes out the LED stays lit about 12 hours on batteries (longer than most others). In addition, the batteries are user replaceable with three AAA Ni-MH cells. Be sure to use only Ni-MH cells so they charge properly and do not overheat. Lastly, the design is decent – plug it into the lower outlet and the upper is still accessible.
